As a believer, God will start to open up your eyes to the spiritual things in this world. Unless you are a born again Christian, you are blind to the spiritual things that are taking place around us. Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:10-13, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:10-13, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Satan, the devil himself is our enemy, and Paul warned us that we don’t fight in the physical form but in the spiritual. Demons can reside in a human body just like Mary Magdelene that had seven evil spirits within her body that Jesus’ had to cast it out. As you study the bible Jesus’ ministry involved in casting those are demon-possessed.

Thankfully, the moment we have become saved through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are now indwelt by the Holy Spirit. He removed the scales out from our eyes to be able to see the things of the unseen world. We must ask the spirit of discernment to recognize the lies of the devil.

According to John 10:10, the thief comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy. This has been the devil’s agenda to conquer and to divide. Satan is divisive that he creates division by using our skin color, our political differences, and despised people who are in the authority. Although there are those in the power have abused it but not everyone is doing the same mistakes.

Romans 13:1 says, “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except God and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.”

Whatever God designed to be good, Satan will always come up with the counterfeit and present you with the half-truth. He creates tension using the color of the skin that we must feel inferior or superior just because we don’t have the same skin color. Don’t you realize that God wants diversity and not a bunch of clones? God wants us to be unified in spite of our gender, race, and social status.

Paul wrote, “I plead with you brethren by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that you all speak the same thing that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind.” Although this word is for the believers we can also apply his teachings in our lives. As an American, we believe this slogan that divided we fall and united we stand which is the truth. There are those who are trying tirelessly to destroy what this nation stands for. We have been ignorant of the devices of the enemy which is from the start to divide and conquer.

We can agree to disagree. We may not view or agree with others about the choices we make in life, but we must strive to be in the same mind to work together in unity and create a harmonious atmosphere.

Just to give you an illustration of how Satan is at work to destroy the lives of others is to study the life of Job. As you read the story of Job, he was a faithful man that God was well pleased. However, Satan had asked God’s permission to take away what he had to see if Job would remain faithful to God. As you read the first two chapters in the book of Job, you’ll discover that Satan had stripped everything Job’s owned.

In one day, the enemy killed Job’s children, set his property on fire, and Job health was also attacked. If you think about it, if you were in Job’s position, we have cursed God already. But not Job. Job recognized that God was the one gave and He is the only one who can also take away what he has owned. He blessed God despite what was taken away from his life.

The enemy has no power unless it is permitted by God to bring chaos in your life. Sometimes we wonder, why bad things happened? There is always a purpose in every situation whether we understand it or not at the moment.

Romans 16:17-20 New International Version (NIV)

17 I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery, they deceive the minds of naive people. 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you, but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

In Romans 16:17, we are warned to avoid such people or organization who cause divisions and offenses that are contrary to the doctrine which we have learned. We have an identity crisis that the devil is using people, his minion to twist the truth. As we see now, female wants to become male and vice versa. In the same way with the color of our skin because we have forgotten that we are all created in God’s image. As we read the verse above, we are warned of the flattery of a smooth talk that deceived so many naive minded people. As you can see in our generation so many go on a rally because they have been swayed by other doctrines of an organization that only wants to create chaos instead of peace.

What is the anecdote to live a wise men and women in our generation?

Paul said to the Romans as we read the verse above to be wise about what is good and not be gullible to the wiles of the devil. We must not live like the world but maintain peace and order if possible. I believe we can win our battles on our knees.

How can we defeat the enemy?

Our battle against the wiles and devices of the enemy is on our knees. We as a follower of Christ we fight on our knees in the presence of our Almighty God. We humble ourselves by interceding for our family members especially our spouse and children. We are also called to pray for our government. It is God who appoints. I believe effective prayer can make a lot of difference in our generation today.
