Ezekiel 16:6-14

“And when I passed by you and saw you struggling in your own blood, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ Yes, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ I made you [a]thrive like a plant in the field; and you grew, matured, and became very beautiful. Your breasts were formed, your hair grew, but you were naked and bare

Explanation of the above verse

This verse was given to me by God when I have attended a Retreat from the church I used to go. As I was in the middle of worship, I saw a vision where I was naked in front of a man which I believe I was standing in front of the Almighty God that He eventually confirmed this vision through the book of Ezekiel 16:6-4. This verse is a story of my life.

When God found me, I was barely surviving. Because of the traumatic events that took place in my life since I was sixteen years old until I turned twenty-eight, I was barely living. I was on the brink of committing suicide and I have experienced depression. Then God told me to live which I lived through it all. I was able to recover and finally realized that there was hope in Him alone.

.“When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread [b]My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine,” says the Lord God. “Then I washed you in water; yes, I thoroughly washed off your blood, and I anointed you with oil. 10 I clothed you in embroidered cloth and gave you sandals of [c]badger skin; I clothed you with fine linen and covered you with silk. 11 I adorned you with ornaments, put bracelets on your wrists, and a chain on your neck.

Explanation of the above verse

Additionally, there was a point in my life when I finally realized I needed someone to love me unconditionally. It was then that God protected me and put a hedge of protection around me. God’s love is unconditional which is the highest form of love or another word would be agape. Only God can love us unconditionally. As a human being, our love is limited and conditional.

12 And I put a [d]jewel in your nose, earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head. 13 Thus you were adorned with gold and silver, and your clothing was of fine linen, silk, and embroidered cloth. You ate pastry of fine flour, honey, and oil. You were exceedingly beautiful and succeeded to royalty. 14 Your fame went out among the nations because of your beauty, for it was perfect through My splendor which I had bestowed on you,” says the Lord God.

God allures and woos His daughters as His bride. God treats us a royalty that He will crown us with His loving kindness and tender mercies. God is close to the brokenhearted. God saw me in my brokenness.

God allures and woos His daughters as His bride.

God’s Mercy on His People

Hosea 2:14-16

14 “Therefore, behold, I will allure her,
Will bring her into the wilderness,
And speak [a]comfort to her.
15 I will give her her vineyards from there,
And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope;
She shall sing there,
As in the days of her youth,
As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.

16 “And it shall be, in that day,”
Says the Lord,
That you will call Me [b]‘My Husband,’
And no longer call Me [c]‘My Master,’

Explanation of the above verse

God gives us many chances even if we have made mistakes several times. He isn’t like the rest of our family members where other cultures will disown you if you somehow violate their rules. There are other cultures that if you have converted into Christianity you will be disowned.

Only God is capable of loving us conditionally. As women, we crave for a real love that can not be found in a man. A man’s love is conditional. I used to date a man whom I thought could satisfy the longing of my soul but ultimately led to disaster and disappointment. I tried to fill the void in my heart, but God is the only one who you can make you whole. I was looking at the wrong places that I ended up dating a man who abused me that went on for seven years.

I had finally got out of the abusive relationship with God’s grace and strength. God was good enough to send me great women in my life from my church who prayed for me and who were there for me. God gradually decreased my desire from this man that finally I was set free.
